The world’s largest renewable energy power plant was built in China. The facility is a 2.2GW photovoltaic facility that produces 5 billion kWh of clean energy from the Sun. The system produces enough energy to power more than 6 million Chinese homes and uses digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins and refined management to save 2375 million tons of CO2. It increases its efficiency by 50% and increases its energy output by 2%, producing the equivalent power for 120,000 homes. The entire project was built through a partnership between Huawei and Huanghe Hydropower Development.
Digital technology could reduce global emissions by 20% by 2050.
